Mr. Khwanchai Neungjamnong, District Chief of Wiang Haeng, along with Mrs. Khwanla Neungjamnong, President of the Wiang Haeng Red Cross, Miss Haruthai Chaisuk, the Wiang Haeng District Community Development Officer, staff from the Wiang Haeng Community Development Office, and OTOP entrepreneurs from Wiang Haeng District, received the first prize for the "District Group 2" in the Landscape Decoration Contest for the Exhibition Booth and Sales of Community Products at the 'Winter Season Miss Chiang Mai and OTOP of Good Products from Chiang Mai' event, held by Mr. Nirat Phongsitthavorn, the Governor of Chiang Mai Province.
The event took place at the exhibition area behind the Chiang Mai Provincial Hall, Muang District, Chiang Mai, from January 5–19, 2025.
For this exhibition, Wiang Haeng District showcased a replica of "Toh," a mythical creature in the belief of the Tai Yai people, who believe that "Toh" represents prosperity, good fortune, and progress. The display also included a procession of "Poy Sang Long," a traditional cultural ceremony of the Tai Yai people, one of the nine ethnic groups living in Wiang Haeng. Additionally, there was a demonstration of weaving using a traditional Karen waist loom, and OTOP products from Wiang Haeng were sold, attracting great interest from event attendees and tourists.
